2. General information about processing
Personal data means information relating to an identified or identifiable person. We process personal data only when necessary to operate this website securely, respond to communications, comply with legal obligations, or pursue a legitimate interest. We do not sell personal data.
The main legal bases used on this website are:
- Article 6(1)(a) GDPR: consent, where consent is requested;
- Article 6(1)(b) GDPR: steps requested before entering a contract or performance of a contract;
- Article 6(1)(c) GDPR: compliance with a legal obligation; and
- Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: legitimate interests, especially secure and reliable website operation and efficient handling of inquiries.
3. Hosting and server log files
Hosting provider
This website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus (“Hostinger”). Hostinger processes website and server data on our behalf for the purpose of providing, securing, and maintaining the website. Cyprus is a member of the European Union. Our relationship with the hosting provider is governed by contractual data-protection terms.
Server logs
When you access the website, the hosting infrastructure may automatically record technical information such as your IP address, date and time of access, requested page or file, referrer URL, browser and operating-system information, amount of data transferred, and access status. These logs are used to deliver the site, maintain technical stability, detect abuse, and protect the website and its visitors.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure, reliable, and efficient operation of the website. Log data is retained only for the period required for operation, security monitoring, incident investigation, or legal claims and is then deleted or anonymised, unless a longer period is legally required.
4. Encryption
This website uses TLS/SSL encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the https:// address and the security indicator in your browser. Encryption protects data transmitted between your device and the website. No internet transmission can nevertheless be guaranteed to be completely secure.
5. Contact by email
If you contact Memoturbo by email, we process the information you provide, normally including your email address, name if supplied, message content, attachments, and communication metadata, in order to answer your inquiry and manage any subsequent communication.
Where an inquiry concerns a contract or requested pre-contractual steps, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. In other cases, processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and our legitimate interest in responding effectively to inquiries. If you voluntarily provide special-category data, we will process it only as permitted by Article 9 GDPR. Please do not send medical reports, diagnoses, treatment records, or other sensitive health information.
Email services for contact@memoturbo.com are provided through Namecheap Private Email by Namecheap, Inc., 4600 East Washington Street, Suite 300, Phoenix, AZ 85034, USA. Namecheap acts as a service provider for email delivery and storage. Processing may involve the United States or other countries. Where required, international transfers are covered by recognised safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and Namecheap’s data-processing terms.
Correspondence is retained until the inquiry is resolved and no longer required, and is then deleted unless statutory retention duties, contractual needs, security requirements, or legal claims justify longer storage.
6. Cookies, local storage, and consent
The public website is currently designed without advertising or behavioural-analytics cookies. WordPress, security components, and hosting systems may use technically necessary cookies or similar storage where required to provide a function requested by you, maintain security, or remember privacy preferences. Such access is based on § 25(2) TDDDG and, where personal data is processed, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
The Complianz consent-management component is installed to control technologies that may require consent. If optional cookies or external services requiring consent are introduced, they should remain blocked until you choose to allow them. Any consent can be withdrawn for the future using the cookie-preference control when displayed. The legality of processing carried out before withdrawal is unaffected.
7. External media and links
Pexels media
The homepage may display a background video or preview image delivered from Pexels, a Canva Germany GmbH brand, Pappelallee 78/79, 10437 Berlin, Germany. When such media is loaded directly from Pexels, your browser connects to Pexels and transmits technical information including your IP address, requested resource, browser information, and time of access. Pexels states that data may be processed in the EU and other countries and uses applicable safeguards for international transfers. The purpose is to display visual content. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in presenting the website attractively. We aim to host media locally where practical in order to minimise third-party connections.
External links
Links to third-party websites do not transmit data to those providers merely because the link is displayed. If you follow an external link, the destination provider processes data under its own privacy policy.
8. Locally hosted fonts and images
Website fonts and article images are generally delivered from the Memoturbo hosting environment. In that case, no connection to an external font provider is required. Some article illustrations were created with the assistance of generative AI; this does not cause visitor data to be sent to an AI provider when the locally stored image is displayed.
9. Comments, accounts, newsletters, and analytics
Memoturbo does not currently offer public user accounts, payments, a newsletter subscription, behavioural advertising, or visitor analytics. Public article comments are not intended to be available. If these functions are introduced, this Privacy Policy and any consent mechanism will be updated before they are used.
10. Recipients and international transfers
Personal data is disclosed only where necessary to operate the website, handle communications, comply with law, or protect legal rights. Relevant recipients may include Hostinger as hosting processor, Namecheap as email provider, and technical or legal advisers where required. Public authorities may receive data where disclosure is legally required.
Where a recipient processes personal data outside the European Economic Area and no adequacy decision applies, we use an available lawful transfer mechanism, normally the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, together with supplementary measures where appropriate. You may request information about applicable safeguards using the contact details above.
11. Retention
Unless a specific period is stated above, personal data is stored only for as long as required for the purpose for which it was collected. We then delete or anonymise it, unless continued retention is required by law, necessary for contractual documentation, or justified for the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims. Consent-based data is deleted when consent is withdrawn unless another legal basis permits continued processing.
12. Your rights
Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, you may have the right to:
- obtain access to your personal data and information about its processing (Article 15 GDPR);
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data (Article 16 GDPR);
- request deletion of your data (Article 17 GDPR);
- request restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR);
- receive data you provided in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format where the portability requirements apply (Article 20 GDPR);
- object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on Article 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR (Article 21 GDPR); and
- withdraw consent at any time for the future where processing is based on consent.
To exercise a right, contact contact@memoturbo.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Rights may be limited where an applicable legal exception applies.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority. The authority generally responsible for private-sector organisations in Bavaria is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany; https://www.lda.bayern.de/.
13. Automated decision-making
Memoturbo does not use personal data collected through this website for automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the website, its services, or legal requirements change. The current version is always published on this page with its revision date.
